This lab displays a series of images with transitions that imitates split-flap displays.

If you're from the UK, you might remember More4's flappy triangle branding and idents . I love the look of this effect so I wanted to try and implement it with SVG and Javascript. Originally the flaps showed just a plain colour, but painting on an image like this is much more interesting.

What would really sell the effect is brightening and darkening the faces of the flaps as they rotate, but I haven't got around to this yet.
